Have you started to use your AlbumSaver Protect Plus and wonder how upload speeds are handled? Well, this article is perfect for you and the question you may have!
AlbumSaver Protect Plus upload speeds can vary a bit based on your computer and the speed of that computer's internet connection. The settings that AlbumSaver Protect Plus currently has will be fine, however, there are a few things we can do to ensure those speeds are as fast as possible.
Testing Your Computer's Internet Speed
In order to determine if there is an issue with your internet speed, you can visit www.speedtest.net Once you have visited that website, you'll just need to click the button that says "Go". From there, it will test both the download and upload speeds. The upload speed is what will really matter in this situation. If it is under 5 Mbps, your AlbumSaver Protect Plus backup may go very slowly.
AlbumSaver Protect Plus Settings
The first thing you can do is change what is being backed up. If you would like to backup Photos and Videos at separate times, you can un-select Videos and have it only backup Photos initially. After that Videos can be re-enabled if you wish.
You can either run the backup after a certain interval of hours, or you can have it stop and end at certain times and certain days of the week. We recommend using the "On Schedule" function, and setting it to run later at night like between 10:00 PM and 5:00 AM. This way, it can run at times where network traffic is at its lowest. Both in your home and in your neighborhood.
You can click the checkbox labeled "Use multithreaded upload" in order to allow AlbumSaver Protect Plus to use as much network bandwidth as it possibly can. If you do the backup later on at night, this won't inconvenience you.
If you have many files, it will take a substantial amount of time to complete the backup. However, once the initial backup is complete any subsequent backup will be much faster. This is because there aren't as many files that will need to be backed up.
